Clawfoot Tub Shower Kit Installation

When I was a kid, we would go to my grandma’s house every summer. She lived in a small town about five minutes from our house. My grandma used to run a small farm before she got too weak to continue working outside, so there were a lot of abandoned barns and buildings to explore outside. I have great memories of running around and having adventures outside, but the inside of her house was just as neat as the outside. It was a very old home with some fun rooms, one of which was her upstairs bathroom. The bathroom was gigantic, but there was almost nothing in the room. The floor was covered in black and white linoleum, in one corner was a small stand-alone sink, and in another corner was a beautiful cast iron clawfoot tub.

There was no shower in the tub, so whenever you needed to clean off, you got to take a relaxing bath. Because of that house and in particular that bathroom, I want to have a clawfoot tub in my home. The only problem is that I would also like a shower for that tub. Luckily, a clawfoot tub shower kit can solve that problem. Companies know that clawfoot tubs are great decorative pieces for the bathroom, so they manufacture them. They also know that those tubs are not as functional for our fast-paced lifestyles, so they also manufacture kits that allow you to install a shower head to your clawfoot tub. Not everyone has time to take a long, relaxing bath every morning before work or school, so having a shower is necessary.

Some may say that a clawfoot tub shower kit ruins the look and draw of a clawfoot tub, but there are many designs out there that take that into account. Clawfoot tubs are usually pretty rustic and old, so the shower design needs to fit that design. The best designs have shower heads that fit the older style, so they not only look good with the clawfoot tub, they enhance its look at give an even more rustic feel. Often, getting a simple monsoon, circular shower head to go with your clawfoot tub adds an elegant, functional touch that a more modern shower head would not be able to accomplish.

A clawfoot tub shower kit is also easy to install, but make sure you know exactly how your tub is connected to the water supply and get a kit that is compatible with your particular tub. If you have a genuine clawfoot tub, you may need to call a plumber to make sure that you are not going to harm or scratch the tub. New clawfoot tubs are usually built so that a shower head can easily be installed, but older, original clawfoot tubs can be a little bit trickier.

A plumber or professional may be needed to help, but when a functional shower head is installed to your tub, it will be well worth the work. In a world where modern decor rules, a unique throwback in the interior decorating world is well-received. The clawfoot tub is just such an item. While the look of these tubs is great, their functionality in a society used to getting things done fast is not that great. A clawfoot tub shower kit is the perfect way to meld old style with modern comfort. Clawfoot tubs are coming back into style, and with these new shower kits, they are really catching on. If you want to add a luxurious look to your bathroom, go to your local home improvement store and check out the clawfoot tubs they have in stock.
