An Overview of Patio Furniture Sets
64I may be biased because of the love I have for my own patio, but I think that patios have to be one of the best parts of a house. Who doesn't enjoy a good barbecue out on a patio? Who can't appreciate taking in a little sunbathing in the safety and privacy of their own backyard? I have to say that soaking up a summer afternoon and evening on the patio of my house is one of my favorite past times. Whether I am reading a book, picnicking with family and/or friends, doing a little work at home, or simply enjoying the scenery, there is no place I would rather be than on my own patio.
Having spoken to the appeal of the patio, I must add that a patio is nothing more than a slab of concrete without the right patio furniture sets. First, I have to say that I have a special place in my heart for vinyl. This is because vinyl can be classy and economical. Vinyl patio furniture sets saw me through my young married years and nursed my love of patios along back when I was almost too young and too unestablished to have the time to truly appreciate everything a patio has to offer. I have to say that my only complaint of vinyl patio furniture sets is that they are more breakable than other designs.
If vinyl chairs are used simply to sit in, then they are completely safe, but on more than one occasion I have seen a friend lean back in his chair only to have the legs break, dumping him on the ground in a heap of embarrassment. I also lost one of my favorite vinyl tables when a roof full of snow sloughed down right on top of it. Still, vinyl patio sets are a good option for someone on a tight budget. I have owned a couple of wood patio furniture sets. In fact right after I lost my vinyl table to the snow, I went out and bought a wood picnic table and a couple of benches. They were beautiful and durable. I felt like I was really moving up in the world. This wooden set lasted me for years but required a new coat of paint every couple of years.
I can witness for both the beauty of wooden furniture and the constant need for upkeep. If you are looking for a one-time expense, then wooden patio furniture is not the way to go. If you have a love affair with wood and don't mind the upkeep, then wooden furniture can provide you with years of enjoyment. The last set of patio furniture I bought and hopefully will ever buy is a set of iron furniture. The furniture itself comes with a black matte finish, so it looks sort of rustic. I like that it is not shiny or modern, but I have friends who have gone with shinier finishes on different metals, and they have lost nothing in terms of function or durability.
I personally don't find my iron furniture as comfortable as vinyl or wood. Maybe this is because the set I have features an ornate design on the back and seat of the chair. I have a nice set of outdoor cushions that I use that make these chairs a little easier to relax in. In the end, finding the right patio furniture set or sets depends on knowing what your budget is and where your passion lies. You might think that metal patio furniture sets are elitist and so decide to go with something more down to earth. Making such a choice is your right. As for me, I have found things to love and to complain about with every patio furniture set I have owned. Finally, as long as it is furniture that helps you to get the most from your patio, you can't go wrong.

I agree about the benefits of wooden patio furniture, I too have seen those molded plastic chairs fail
